Poo

Is what I felt like this morning when I got up. I started feeling a little sick probably Tuesday. I propped my hand under my chin at some point and said OW! The gland by my tonsils on the left side was so swollen and tender. I was thinking oh crap here comes my quarterly sinus infection. I felt semi-ok Wednesday. I got home from work and curled up in a ball on the couch for about an hour and slept. I took a generic Zyrtec at about 10:30 and went to bed. Well, every time I take those, I remember why I don't want to take them any more. They make me feel loopy. Thursday morning at work, I felt like I was in slllllllllloooooooooowwwwwww moooooootion. I hated it all day and it was a 24 hour pill. Dang. I hate anything that doesn't make me feel normal. I felt retarded at work. Its like I couldn't think straight. So, I decided not to take another one last night.

Well, I woke up this morning at probably 4 am with snot running out of my nose. Ew gross I know. It is only my left head, so I call it. If you didn't know, I have two heads and the left one always seems to get me sick. Dang left head, get with it! So, only my left nostril was stopped up and running down my face! I had to blow my nose twice before actually getting up this morning. As my alarm goes off, I realized the bottom was falling out outside. It was thundering and lightening on top of making my backyard a pond. Talk about wanting to call in and go back to sleep. But noooooo, the good employee that I am...got up and went to work. haha I got to work and told my co-worker that I felt like poo. She then proceeded to get onto me and told me I shouldn't have come in and to leave right then and go to the doctor. I am hard headed and stayed to work at least half a day. I worked until 11:30 to get in my 4 hours and I left.

I ran to a doc in the box place close to the house that I always go to for these. She is going to know me by name soon I think. I just went in September. My gland is swollen, I have drainage, my left head is stopped up, and my left eye tends to water. She checked off on the doctor sheet that I officially have a sinus infection. Luckily, I was the first and only car to pull into the parking lot. Another guy came in right after me though. So, I was in and out of there. What is even more wonderful is that they have a pharmacy attached to the back. You walk back there and they get our prescriptions right away and you are on the go. Why does it take other pharmacies and hour or longer to get things ready for you when this place can almost just hand it to you? I don't know, but it is great. I got some sort of Z-pack. It doesn't look the same as I have had before, but it is still only a 5 day supply. She also gave me some spray to use twice a day to open my sinuses.

K10 made me be bad earlier today. I got to looking on eBay at some jeans that I have wanted for a while now. I couldn't find any of the Seven Dojo jeans that I want in my size. However, I did find some Lucky jeans that have only been worn twice. I placed a bid on them and hope that I win them for cheaper than I put in as my maximum bid. I am currently the highest bidder for $15.50. Yes! It does have a couple of days to go, but I max bid to $50. An almost brand new pair of Lucky jeans for $50? Awesome. If I win, I hope I like them and they fit. If not, I guess I will have to put them up for sale too. I will keep you posted on my ebaying. :)

Now, I am home watching HGTV trying to get some rest. I will eventually have to work on some homework this weekend. I think I have some semi-small projects due by Monday or Tuesday. I have to write 8 annotated bibliographies for an ethics research paper I am writing that compares and contrasts Exxon and BP. I am lucky so far that the first two scholarly articles I have read have actually been kind of interesting. Hopefully, I will be just as lucky on the rest. Each of the 8 have to be 150 to 200 words that summarize the article. I have to use at least half of these in the actual paper, so I really have to make sure they are something I want to use. I am really hoping I can write enough of these summaries and just make them my paper in the end. Hopefully.

I hope everyone has a great weekend. I am hoping to take it easy and rest. I'm waiting for my husband to get home with some Movie Gallery for a night in of movies. My favorite. Bring on the popcorn and candy. Oh wait. I already had my candy for the day...a Take 5. They are awesome. If you have never tried one, I suggest you do. Especially if you like chocolate dipped pretzels. I think it really tastes like those. Yum. Ok, I'm hungry now. I'm off....

Eat, Sleep, and Play

Well, I had a pretty good weekend overall. Friday, I got to eat lunch with Abbi and Kristen to visit with little K! He is precious. We ate at McAlister’s, which by the way I will probably never go back to again. Their service and food has been horrible the last 7 or 8 times we have been. The food takes 20 minutes to come out and that is usually after you have gone up there to complain. Then, it was like your food had just been sitting in the back waiting for someone to bring it out. Our food was cold. The last time I went, another lady I was with, her soup smelt like rotten milk. It was so nasty. I am just tired of the horrible service and cold food. Not sure how much more we will go there. I noticed the comment cards are no longer on the table. I guess they got tired of hearing all the bad comments. Yuck.

Saturday, I was in an organizing mood…imagine that. I cleaned up the house and uncluttered a few things in the living room. I had to stop myself to do some homework, because I literally would have organized all day long. I was on a time line since we were meeting H&D and Lindsey for dinner while she was home from Auburn. A good 10-15 of us had dinner at a Mexican Restaurant. Good food and margaritas. We had several other offers to do stuff, so we weren’t sure where we were going from there. We did go to Bridgestreet for a few minutes before heading off to downtown. In the meantime, we changed our minds and went to meet up with some people for a birthday party of one of our friend’s. It was an all black party. I wore all black with jeans just in case we went. I ended up changing shirts in the car. Turtlenecks, clubs, and dancing just don’t really mix. Ha ha! We had a good time, and I danced till my toenails hurt. Again.

Sunday, we both felt a little like death warmed over, but I was up and running fairly early for such a late night. I don’t think I felt normal until about 6 PM. It was still ify then. Ha! Why do we do this to ourselves? I will never understand. We went to good ol’ Oakdale Grocery for some steaks. If you live close by, you don’t know what you’re missing if you’ve never had Oakdale’s. Most locals know all about it, but it is a small little country gas station that sales meat in the back. I know, it sounds weird, but it is so good! Every steak or pork chop comes with a free potato. Yummy. A good filet and potato for $25 for both of us, you can’t beat it. We took the food to a friend’s house and grilled out. Everyone loved the food.

My dad sent me this video over the weekend. I always love the animal stories. I think I am just amazed at how smart and loving they really are. Not only do I love the animal part of this story, but the meaning behind it as well.

My Internet Window Shopping List

It is getting harder and harder to fight the urge of wanting to buy a new bed. I want one so bad. I think I have one picked out, but now the issue is the money to pay for it and what mattress to get! Ha! Does anyone have suggestions on a good mattress? We currently have a full and I really like the mattress we have now. I can’t remember what kind it is though. It is double pillow top. We want to get a King bed this time so that we can both fit comfortably. It is very rare that Kyle ever sleeps in the bed with me. He sleeps on the couch every night. He grew up doing that and likes it better I guess. He “says” if we had a bigger bed he would sleep with me more. Once we get a king bed, we will be able to put our bed and other furniture into a guest bedroom. We have two spare rooms that are not guest equipped. One has a sectional couch in it that has been turned into the dog room and they sleep on the couch. They have their own entertainment center with a TV playing to keep them company. The other room collects all too. It has the desktop computer, Kyle’s weight bench, a bookshelf of my textbooks, and a file cabinet. I am still debating which room to turn into the guest room because the other one would eventually turn into a baby room…I hope in the next year or so. The dog’s room has been so helpful though that I hate to get rid of it. They know to go to their room when we tell them and they sleep on that couch all night long. I had to stop letting them sleep in the floor of my room because every time I turned over or anything they were up in my face keeping me up at night. I am not sure what we would do with them if we converted both rooms. It’s a tough decision!

Here is a picture of the bed I want to get when I can get it. Now, the question is what mattress to put in it. I like anything but traditional just about, if you can't tell. We currently have a platform bed now too. I like different stuff. This bed excites me, because it involves organizing. You can buy an extra piece to go behind the headboard that is shelves on rollers. We have a very small bedroom, so the king will barely fit on its own. We would be able to work this bed and not have nightstands. We could put everything we want on the shelves and open them at night for the alarm if we needed to. I just love it! Here is a picture of the whole setup, but I would get us the black-brown color instead of oak or whatever. I for some reason cannot stand oak, but yet I have an oak table and several other pieces. I am more of a Cherry or Cocoa girl.

OR…OR…OR…

I could get this little gadget as pieces that hook to each side of the headboard, and these would be the nightstands. I can’t decide about these or the other. The other with rolling shelves looks much cleaner and crisper, but I think these are pretty nifty too. These things would probably cover part of our windows in the room, but it would be ok. We may end up changing the room around anyway. Right now, the bed has a window on each side of it.

I also want a TV stand of some kind for my ancient big screen. I love this one, but I seriously doubt that my oldie will fit on top of it. It is one of those floor big screens that are kind of wide. It’s really light weight though. I just can’t lie down in bed and see the TV all that good without flattening out everything under the covers. My bed is too high to see it. I need it up off the floor. Better yet..why don’t I just get a new one of those too? Haha this is all wishful window internet shopping!

I ran into this picture on one of the sites. I am totally going to do this in the house we build. How awesome would it be to have the washer and dryer in your closet?? No more lugging back and forth and no more excuses for leaving the basket of clean clothes in the floor to hang up. I also have wanted the front loaders anyway. Blue is my favorite color. Can I just purchase this whole setup, because I also have wanted the closet organizers too so that I can organize even more. I love all the cubbies and shelves.

We went to a home show when we first were talking about building the house right away. We saw this stove on display, and I loved it. Too bad so sad that it was way expensive, but it was the coolest thing ever. We wondered if it was still having the kinks worked out, because it was a brand new product. We thought it would be so expensive to get it fixed if it ever broke. This thing is amazing. Talk about making me some macaroni in about 9 minutes. That is what I am talking about!!! It boils water in about 90 seconds, it will only heat something that is magnetic, and it saves energy. What caught my eye when we walked by was a piece of paper that was between the pan and the eye and the water was just boiling away. Because the paper is not magnetic, it would not burn. The heat wouldn’t transfer to it like the pan. Therefore, I also touched my hand to it and it doesn’t burn. You can feel some warmth, but nothing like wanting to jerk your hand away. It was awesome!

Last but not least on my wishful thinking list for this week, I ran across these cute little magazine holders. Amber—I thought about you on this one. I love anything cute that will organize something for me. Organizing is so much fun. I am a little big OCD.

Maybe I will have more fun stuff to add to my list later. I am sure I can think of something. Please give me some ideas for mattresses!

"The Stanky Leg"

I kept meaning to enlighten you guys on a new dance that is out. I first learned about it when I went to Birmingham for PJ's birthday. I had never heard the song or seen the dance. Someone played the video on their Apple i-Phone, and I think it was DJ started doing the dance. It is pretty hilarious. If you can stand to watch the video, you should. I am not saying this is cool, but I think it is so funny the stuff people come up with. I tried to convince Kyle that a group of us could make up some song and dance and everyone in the world would do it. Kind of like Superman, Chicken Noodle Soup, and all those other crazy, silly dances people make up. You play Superman or Cupid Shuffle at the club and you will have people going crazy on the dance floor. I swear sometimes I wonder where real music went. There still is a lot of good stuff out there, but more and more people are getting away with these silly songs. I do have to say that it gives me a good laugh. If you have been around us long enough, you know that Kyle has invented his own dance that is a mixture of his college friend's dances. He does it when a really good song comes on that he is into. He is out of control! ha ha! He really does it when Paper Planes comes on. If you ever want to see the dance, just play that song. Don't hate when we create a video for his dance and everyone in the club is doing it! ha ha! j/k

Silver Sweet Teeth

I often wonder how my mouth is so full of silver. My teeth seem to be so sensitive sometimes, and I got to thinking this morning what caused me to get all of these cavities? I do brush my teeth! I admit to everyone and even my dentist I am not a regular flosser. I am sure some of you are cringing right now saying duh that is the problem. It probably is. However, I came up with some other reasons why when I was younger that I probably got cavities:

1. Buying tubs of Strawberry Sour Straws from Sam’s/Costco and eating them one after the other until my tummy hurt.


2. Buying the container of some flavor Kool-Aid, pouring it into a zip lock sandwich bag, adding lots of sugar, chewing one corner off the bag, and eating the pure sugar Kool-Aid. ~~Hello Mr. Cavity. Please eat my teeth now! ~~


3. Getting the powder kind of Hersey’s chocolate instead of the syrup so that I could pour milk over it hoping that it wouldn’t melt all of it. Then, I would scoop my spoon to the bottom and eat the somewhat milk soaked chocolate powder! By that time, there wouldn’t be enough to make my chocolate milk so I would add more chocolate and stir.


4. Pour mounds and mounds of sugar on top of my Rice Krispies/Cherrios/Raisin Bran so that it would sink to the bottom for every scrape of my spoon and mouthful of cereal. Each bite must have a scoop of sugar to go with it.


5. Not sure about then, but now – I put 5 spoons of sugar per one cup of coffee in a regular coffee cup and then proceed to add French Vanilla creamer until it is cloudy light brown.


6. Go to McDonald’s and order a hot fudge sundae with extra fudge. Eat a small piece of ice cream with every hunk of chocolate and throw away the rest of the ice cream that doesn’t have fudge left to go with it.


7. Buy a Mountain Dew every morning on the way to school because back in those days they were only $.75 for a bottle and an oatmeal pie to go with it.


8. Eat raw cookie dough or brownie batter instead of the real cooked thing because it just isn’t as good cooked.


9. Licking the spoon and tub of strawberry pie filling when Mom’s done making the pie.
   

Which one do you think gave me cavities? I probably have two fillings per each sweet tooth listing above. I’m glad Kyle loves me like a fat kid love’s cake because it will all catch up to me one day…oops I mean it already has just like everyone said. I think my only change nowadays is that I went to strictly diet drinks instead. I don’t think I could do #2 any longer, but I admit I would still do the rest when given the chance. I guess this is why I am so sweet…and why my mouth is full of silver.

V and P Day

Well, my Valentine’s Day was rather interesting. We didn’t do anything fancy. I told Kyle he better not get me anything. I really meant it though. I wasn’t saying that to trick him and hope that he really would. I really meant it. There wasn’t a thing that I needed and I wasn’t getting him anything either. He did good and listened to me. He always goes over board and spends way more on me than he should, but he says I am his wife and he can get me nice things if he wants. I can’t argue with that, but sometimes it just isn’t sensible.

We were silly and didn’t make a reservation for dinner. We wanted to try this new Japanese restaurant by our house. It was pretty new and in a shopping center so I didn’t think it would be that busy. Boy was I wrong! It was packed. No one was in line waiting so I thought we got in easy. The lady said an hour and a half wait! We said no thank you. We drove all the way down 72 looking at different places. My taste buds were set on Japanese now. Everywhere we stopped had people lined outside or the wait was forever. I didn’t think we were ever going to find a place. We tried to go into Bridgestreet to see about any of the restaurants in there. It looked like Christmas shopping there. There were lines and lines of cars going in there and the back parking lot across the street was full. We nixed that idea too. Too bad we weren’t driving a Lexus or we could have gotten free valet. I am sure valet was full too though.

We drove all around still looking and ended up down Airport Rd. Bonefish is another one of my favorites, but they had people waiting outside. Dang it. I was so mad by this point I was almost ready to go home. It was no one’s fault but our own for not making reservations, but I will still mad. I am impatient. I hate waiting and turning around or going in circle is one of my worst pet peeves. We finally ended up at O’Charley’s way out there.

We sat at the bar during our 20 minute wait and ordered a drink. Kyle thought they were seating people that came in after us, so he checked. Wow, they were ready for us right away. We had already noticed that had a ton of empty tables all around us, but they weren’t seating anyone. As we were guided to our table, one of the employees was griping that they hadn’t seated anyone in his area in 45 minutes! Another employee commented in my ear, be glad you don’t work here. haha! We were seated at a two person table near the kitchen. The table kind of sucked because right over this small wall was another couple right next to us. You felt like they could hear everything you were saying, so you almost hated to talk. I asked the waitress for A1 at one point and the guy next to us handed me theirs. See what I mean.

The interesting part of the night was that the restaurant just didn’t seem to be prepared for that many people or something. One of the waiters started coming out of the kitchen door with a tray over his head. I saw in slow motion that his tray wouldn’t fit through the one open door and there the plates went crashing down throwing fries and whatever else across the place. I could see through the kitchen window that the manager called them all together and seemed to be telling them about themselves. A few minutes later, I heard someone kind of holler and the manager went around the back corner of the kitchen. All of a sudden a few minutes later we saw flashing lights. In came a medical staff from an ambulance parked outside. We later found out a girl fell or passed out in the back and hit her head. Poor girl – she really had a bad Valentine’s Day. There were a couple of gnats flying around my head. My filet wasn’t as good as Kyle’s sirloin. I had to saw it with my knife. That is not the way it is supposed to be!! When my second drink gets there (after about 15 minutes from ordering it), I was stirring it to find something dark in it. Luckily it was frozen in the piece of ice. I thought it was just dirt or something in the ice, but it looked gray. Kyle swore it was a bug, but I said it wasn’t. He melted to ice to get to the mysterious piece of whatever it was. It was a string or something because he was holding the ice by it once it melted down. It almost looked like a piece of brillo pad frozen in there. Gross. I am sure the alcohol killed whatever it was in my drink, and I haven’t died yet. I think it was ok.

I think we were wore out from that whole evening. After 45 minutes of driving in circles, having a crazy experience at the restaurant, and two margaritas, we said we were just going home. We kind of wanted to go see a movie, but we just went home instead. We were probably home by 10, and Kyle was snoring not long after that. Of course it was great to spend with my husband, but boy it was a weird night!!

I got to spend my first President’s Day with Kyle in a couple of years. We had a good day together. We went to Red Robin for lunch. mmmm…endless steak fries. What a mistake that almost was too. Duh – all kids are out of school too and I think every one in the local area was there eating. We both had burgers and fries. Yummy! A big fat grease burger hit the spot! Then, we were able to get our movie in that we wanted to see V-day. We watched The International. It was time for a quick rush through my most favorite place on earth {Sarcasm} – Wal-Mart. I swear we ran into everyone we know. It’s such a popular, fun place to be. We were in and out of there pretty fast and on the way home. It was a nice relaxing day with my husband. We caught up on 24, House, and The City before I hit the sack to come back to good ol’ work.

The Letter Game...R

1. Rachael Ray - because she is beautiful, I love her voice, and her cookbook teaches me how to make a yummy meal in 30 minutes of less.

2. Rain During the Night - because it makes me sleep more sound.

3. Rivers - because there is just something about being on them that really relaxes me. They are more curvy than women and men still love them! :)

4. Royal Blue - because any blue is my favorite color. Blue is a happy and calming color. I let Kyle paint his bedroom royal blue.

5. R&B -I just love it. That is all I can say about it.

6. Rachel - because she's my sister and would do anything for me. Like cry when I dance with our daddy.

7. Rocking Chairs - because they remind me of home and Alabama. I think they were meant for me because I have a hard time sitting still so I can constantly rock in them.

8. Radius/Radical - because they have to do with Math which is my favorite subject in school. I actually get excited about having to do math problems.

9. Rays of Sun - because I can lay out and tan my pale skin. Ha! They warm you up when its about 65 degrees outside and helps make for a beautiful day.

10. ROTFL - because I love to laugh and love when Kyle gets so cracked up that we both are laughing so hard. I always heard laughing burns calories too...I can use some of that!

Sink or Swim!

I talked all last week about taking the boat out this past weekend because the weather was going to be beautiful. Kyle made sure to get our boat registration and insurance during the week to make sure we could take it out. We had the plans set by Friday night that H&D would go with us. We were glad that someone that had a good bit of boat experience was going with us to help. This would be Kyle's first time with the boat on his own. He went with his brother twice while they were visiting, but its not the same to do it on your own.

Kyle woke me up moving around the house BEFORE my 6:30 am alarm went off. I stayed in bed until then. When I got up, he was fully dressed and preparing for this fishing trip. He was so excited that he had been up since around 5 am. He actually did the butterfly when I woke up. Yes, I said the butterfly. He does it when he gets excited. H&D were supposed to be over around 7 to get ready. When they got there, Kyle was still getting things together. It felt like forever before we actually left. Heather made her a cup of coffee for the ride, and we were out. Although it was supposed to be mid 60's that day, we still layered up because it was chilly that morning and would be windy on the river.

We stopped by several stores on the way to the river. We actually were headed to Second Creek. Someone thought long and hard about those names...First and Second Creek. Kyle stayed up late the night before studying the records of small mouth bass in Second Creek. We stopped to get snacks at one store, bait at another, and on we went. We saw Second Creek, but we couldn't seem to find the boat ramp and our GPS told us stay straight. We ended up at the dam at Wheeler. We went ahead and put in there. The rest was an adventure to say the least! ha!







Kyle backed the trailor in while Derek backed it off into the water. We parked and piled into the boat. Off we went! Derek commented about the motor seeming to be slow and asked if Kyle had charged it. I asked why the boat seemed to rise so high in the front that we couldn't even see! I think we thought it was supposed to do that?? We went around an area of rocks, stopped, and were ready to get out the poles. I was up moving around trying to figure out what I wanted to fish with first. While I was up, I noticed water was right below our seats and wondered how it was there since it had been in a garage since we got it. I asked the simple question - How did this water get in here? Derek looked around and opened the section where the motor is and calmy said - Kyle go back to the dock. This is when I freaked out! I think my life flashed before my eyes! haha I was already planning an evacuation route...I would jump in right there and swim to the rocks a few feet away while the boat sank! Luckily - we made it safely back to the dock and pulled back out of the water. The boys investigated where the water was coming from to know where it was coming in at. WELL...they figured out that they plugged the wrong hole. haha! I had no idea a hole had to be plugged or I may would have checked! I swear tons of water poured out of the boat! It took a good 5-10 minutes for all of this water to come out. I couldn't resist taking pictures as the water emptied onto the pavement and ran away. Once all water was gone, we plugged THE RIGHT hole and were off again. I was a nervous ninny this time!

I questioned everything as we went along this time because I was still scared to death. Everything went well. We stopped several places and casted out. I started with a fake lizzard, then on to a yellow torpedo thing, and can't remember what after that. I am so impatient. I was asking all kinds of questions - what kind of things will they bite, how do I reel this one fast or slow up or down, can you change this one out for me? haha Once I learn each one and how to work it, I will be good to go. Of course, we didn't catch ANY fish! Kyle said it was because I talked the whole time, but I was trying to learn so that next time I would know. This was my first fishing trip on the river. I have only fished in ponds and that is usually for brim because they are speedy biters! I hate waiting!

Anyway, back to the adventure...we were coasting along trying to find a new spot to stop. Kyle was going about 30 which felt like 60 on the water...or to me. It was so funny because you could feel every wave and usually taste it too. We were dodging splashes here and there and ended up with most of them in our eyes/mouth. H and I brought blankets to stay warm if needed...and we needed. Our blanket was soaked after a while of this coasting. We were riding along a little ways off the coast when we hear this thumping/scraping noise. Derek jumps up yelling - Bring the motor up!!! We were scrubbing the bottom a little or hit rocks that were sticking up or something - who knows! We chipped off some of the blade below the propellors. Oops. By this time, I was just hoping to make it back alive. Boy was I glad I called mom to tell her where we put the boat in. H made fun of me for doing it, but I told her if we sank I wanted someone to know where to search for us at! haha sorry, I was being paranoid. I am glad now that I did, because Kyle tried to kill us more than once! haha j/k, but I was scared!

We figured now that we would stay in the main channel between the red and green buoys. We stopped a couple of more times to cast out with no luck. I was scoping out the fish tracker the whole time to hope that I could throw it in one's face. It didn't work! I don't think anyone caught anything. I hate we couldn't figure out how to get to Second Creek because we may would have caught something there. I guess we will have to figure it out next time. We finally pulled out of the water around 2 or 3. We had been in the water a good 4 or 5 hours. As we were hooking onto the trailer to hold the boat on, they noticed that piece of the trailor seemed to be falling apart too. It looked as though it had been welded back together. It was coming loose. They spent a good while trying to make sure the boat was tied to the trailer. Ahhh, we finally made it to land safely and were headed home.

We laughed and took this picture on Kyle's GPS/Rear camera. It sure was a "rear" camera! haha While Derek was trying to hook the boat on, Kyle's reverse camera was getting a good shot of Derek's rear. It was so funny! He moved right before I took it so I only caught his foot. Too funny!



When we got back to our house, H and I passed out on the couch. We slept for hours. H&D left around 8 or 9. I could smell myself, so I got up to take a shower. ha ha ok TMI. By the time I got out of the shower, Nate and Jess were here. We played Spades till 3 am. Good thing I had a nice nap earlier! Boys sure do now how to make a girl mad when it comes to card games. We play with our emotions and they play to win. Kylissa was a good team though! We won both rounds against them. I took my happy self to bed.

Sunday - I was able to get up at a decent hour, but Kyle slept in because he stayed up longer than I did. We had a relaxing day at home. My sweet husband cooked dinner for me that night. We like to surprise one another when it comes to dinner. We try not to peak the whole time the other is cooking. It smelt so good in there. I was smelling mushrooms but also something like spaghetti. I am not sure where the spaghetti smell came from because that was no where in the meal. He called it goulash, but that was nothing like what my mom would call goulash. Whatever it was, it was good! He baked steaks with cream of mushroom. Since he knows I don't like mushrooms although he loves them, he tried to make them good where I would eat them. He sauted them in soy sauce. I actually ate a few...SHOCKING! He made it with rice pilaf and green peas. Yummy!

Monday - was back to work and home again. My poor honey - I went to sleep on him so early. He ran to the movie store and brought me back a surprise dinner from Dip N Dop. It was our first time eating there, and he knew me well. He brought me a grilled cheese. One of my favorites. It was pretty good. I think I ate it, got full, and passed out! I was worn out for some reason. I probably went to sleep at 8 if not sooner. I slept through 24 and the City. I got up off the couch at around 11 and went to bed. It was off to the rest of the week.

Hopefully I will get to see little Keegan sometime this week and eat lunch with one of my besties - K10. Can't wait for either! Tomorrow is hump day! Have a great rest of the week!

I forgot too!

Speaking of Kristen's blog about forgetting birthdays...I am world's worst. Even after reading her blog yesterday, it still didn't dawn on me. Yesterday, February 3rd, was my godson's 3rd birthday. His mother, Tiffany, had to call me. All she said, do you know what today is? I knew we had just celebrated her birthday because that is usually when she calls...so it wasn't hers. I said ohhh It is his birthday today!! She said I am so proud of you for remembering or well I had to bring it up. I felt so bad. I haven't seen the little rascal in so long though! I am sure he has grown like a weed. If he is anything like his momma, I am sure he is wild! She said he has a little girlfriend at daycare. How cute is that!

I really need to go see him more often. She is hard to find sometimes though. She is all over the place and doesn't always have a cell phone. I don't think I have been a very good godmother. I used to buy him gifts and take them to him all the time. My feelings got a little hurt on his first birthday when she didn't really invite me. She called to tell me to call Sarah to bring Tripp over, but she never mentioned I could come too. First birthdays are a big deal! They get to smash their cake and everything. I got to go to Tripp's first birthday!! It was so fun to watch. I think because I don't have children people don't really think to invite me. I may or may not come, but I love to watch my friend's babies grow up so I would really try to go. Well, enough about that, because my little man is now 3 years old. She was taking him to Chuck-E-Cheese today. You know I wanted to go to that, but I have to work. She was going to ask Sarah to take Tripp with them. CEC is always fun! I hope he had a good birthday and I need to go see home more often.

The past few days...

Kyle and I had a pretty good relaxing weekend. Friday, we happened to fight off all of the requests to go out and stayed home. I think Kyle would have gone, but its always me that just wants to stay home. Fridays are tough for me because I get up so early that I don't feel like doing anything that night after working all day. We stayed home and watched movies I believe.

Saturday, we slept in - which is always nice, but it was a pretty day to sleep away. I took my first Productions & Operations Management tests that took about an hour and 15 minutes. I made a 93/105 = 89%. I was happy and sad. I only missed 4 questions out of 35, but I really wanted an A. I was so close. This class only has tests and a paper, so I am afraid I won't have much leeway to make up for bad tests. I am shooting for straight A's in my last semester to graduate with one of the cum laude's. I am riding a fine line on that 3.5 right now as it is. Saturday we went to Movie Gallery and rented another party pack - 4 movies, 4 candy, 4 drink, 4 popcorns PLUS the late fees from the last 4 movies we rented. Dang it!! This is why we have Netflix. H&D came by and watched two of the movies with us. We rented My Best Friend's Girl, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Mirrors, and Hellboy II. We watched the girly movies first.
Sunday, we tried to get up a little earlier because it was still a pretty day that day. Kyle went to Oakdale's (best steak from the middle of nowhere) to get our steaks for the super bowl while I got ready. We went to H&D's pretty early around 2:30. I took my homework to try to do it because I knew we would be there all day and it was due Monday. I was able to finish it along the way. I really didn't watch much of the game or commercials. I was sitting at the table "trying" to read my homework, but it was so hard to focus that I think I had to read the same lines over and over again. Heather and I dove into some of that yummy dip that she makes that I need to also add to my other blog. We were so full of the dip that we just split one of our filets. I made some big ol' chocolate chip cookies for everyone after dinner. They were yummy too. We had a good time. The best part of the day was honking at a guy that kept looking at H and I in Kyle's big truck. I really didn't mean to, but Kyle's car and keychain honks and beeps at any little push of the button. The poor guy got excited I think that he thought the two of us were honking at him at the store. Sorry guy, we really didn't know it was going to do that. It was so funny. I got out of there as fast as I could before he tried to follow us home. ha ha!

Monday night Kyle and I actually grocery shopped together. That is hardly ever. I always tend to spend more when he goes to the grocery with me. He throws in every little thing here and there. We actually didn't do too bad this time and tried to buy more stuff to cook at home instead of eating out. We had fun at the grocery, but I wasn't feeling too good. I've been having headaches and earaches for some reason. I got home and tried to run through all of the notes I made for my BP class on Capsim. I have to do that first real round for our company tonight in class.

Today, I get a call from my mom on my cell phone at 9 am. It worried me a little because it was early and it was my mom's cell phone. She said my sister had a little accident. She was in a car accident this morning on her way to work. Traffic was backed up and started to move. She looked down for a second and back up, but it was too late. She rear-ended a BMW in front of her. Her car was pretty smushed up, but they said the BMW looked almost fine. Rachel's airbags deployed and everything. Mom said she had a couple of red spots on her face from the airbags. I am so thankful that she was alright otherwise. It could have been a lot worse. She and I are always really good about wearing our seatbelts though, so I am sure that helped. We don't know yet if they will total it or not. I think it was like a 2001. Not sure yet what will happen with that.

I am off of work soon and going to my BP class. Wish me luck on our first round on our simulation business. It is so embarassing if your group doesn't do well because he posts it up on the board the results. You get to see how good or bad other groups do. Hopefully we won't need another emergency loan tonight. :)
