My Project and Pig

It has been forever, I know. I have majorly been slacking once again. I was waiting to be able to post my project that I did, but it took forever for me to get it finished. Well, not forever, but forever to decide how it would look good hanging on the wall. I still am not perfectly happy with the way it is hung on the wall, but I can't think of much else to do. If you have any ideas, I am open for whatever. In order to get the pictures to stagger perfectly, I would have to start much higher than the mirror, and I felt retarded hanging it as high as I did. The toilet is not centered between the counter and the tub, so that also makes it awkward. I didn't want the last picture so close to the shower either that it got wet. Anyway, enough babbling. Here is the project.

Since I got a new comforter and was finally able to put out my Christmas gifts in the bathroom, I needed some new matching decor. I decided to try my hand at making my own. I hope the idea is cute and feel free to steal it if you want to. I originally ran to Hobby Lobby and bought some wood letters, glue, paint, and scrapbook paper. I went to Michael's the next day and found much cuter letters and scrap paper.

The bathroom before...see how I needed something in this space?

My supplies:

The letters and some paint!

After painting them all and letting them dry, put some glue on the back of them to glue on the paper.

All done!! I love that they are all on different paper. I am so proud of them!

The first time I hung them, this is hat I decided to do since it was small space. I liked it until Kyle came in and said he didn't know what it was supposed to say. So, I rearranged.

This is what I came up with next. I am still not happy with this arrangement either, but I have hammered a ton of holes in the wall. So, it may just have to stay this way.

This past weekend was the 4th of July. We decided this year to celebrate our birthday party on the 4th, since both of our birthdays (7th & 8th) were during the week this year. Plus, I had not given Kyle is birthday present yet for him to know we were really partying the following week. I got him tickets to the Jay-Z/Ciara concert in Atlanta. He was so excited. I reserved our room for Saturday and Sunday so that we could actually go out in Atlanta. Its good we had our party on the 4th though, because more of our friends could come. A ton of our friends showed up. My awesome parents actually threw us a "Pig Pickin" party. They got a whole pig to cook on the pit. It was awesome. They did so much for us with buying all the food and just providing the house and time. I am one lucky girl!! I know they had a good time too. They like to party with my friends just as much as I do. They got us a keg that lasted pretty much all day. We played some horseshoes, volleyball, tossed the football, swam, and fished...Oh, and ate, and ate, and ate. We had chicken, brats, and hot dogs for lunch. Heather and I both made her yummy Mexican dip (I hear Alyse taught her this in 2nd grade?? :) ) I need to add that to my recipe blog for sure. We spent all day Friday cleaning up the house to make it presentable. The house looked awesome. I'm glad dad was able to be off work for a week for the first time in months. I hate he had to bust his butt through most of it to get ready for our party. Thanks mom and dad! Yall are awesome and we love you!! Here are a few pictures from the party.
