Hump Day, No fun day

Wow. I am wore out. I can't believe it is already Wednesday. The weeks really, really fly by lately. I have been so busy at work. I hope that means because I am a good worker? My phone tends to ring off the hook lately. Our customer's seem to find one of us that they like and call only one of us. Its nice, but I have been so busy. We've stayed so busy that T and I have actually been eating in the cafeteria next to us instead of going out. That is so out of the norm. We almost always try to get out to get away. Luckily, the cafeteria really does have some pretty good food. Monday - Grilled cheese with fries, Tuesday - two pieces of pepperoni pizza, and today - a turkey club on a wheat sub. Yum. My pickle today was hot. I couldn't figure that out! ha! I think it was dipped in jalapeno juice or something. What's the deal pickle? I don't like spicy at all.

I am so excited. Next week is Spring Break. I'm not doing anything or going anywhere, but its nice to know I don't have class next week. I will more than likely try to catch up my homework for the following week or two. I cannot believe that I only have 4 more weeks of school work left before I graduate. Holy cow! Sadly enough, I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up. I have an Associates in Business, Associates in Accounting, and will soon have a Bachelor's in Accounting. I have been having a mental crisis. I have a lot in normal life going on after school, so I don't know if and how I can go back to do what I want. I love math and science. I thought getting into Accounting would be a lot of math. I was wrong. There is adding, subtracting, multiply, and divide. I like the cool stuff like Algebra, Geometry and stuff like that. So, I have really been trying to process going back for Engineering. Some people say do it, and some people talk me out of it. I would have a good majority of my basic classes already done from my two associates. I just know that I want to have a baby before I even try to worry about another degree. I promised Kyle to wait until I graduated...and that time is coming. It may be later this year, but I still plan to have a baby in the next year or two. If I back out of Engineering, then should I go for a master's of some sort? Crap. I don't have a clue. My poor friends have heard this story over and over. I'm sure its getting old. I wish I could figure it out.

Anyway, didn't mean to get off on that tangent. I guess I didn't have much else to talk about. I have been busy, but nothing that fun to talk about. I am just tired today. There was a big announcement made about my organization at work today. I am not happy at all. I think that is something that has been bothering me too. I will more than likely be changing supervisor's, and I really like the one I have now. I think we will be getting more work now too. As if we aren't busy enough. There are only three of us on my team, and one of the other ladies is working from home 2 hours a day. Her mother is really sick with dementia/Alzheimer's, and it is really sad. So, we are short a person for a few hours in the afternoon. Its been rough. After work, I went to the chiro and got to lay on the water massage bed. It was a nice end to the day...that and getting my back cracked. I feel so much better.

We are celebrating Sarah's birthday this weekend at my house. I actually REALLY remembered her birthday this year. I was so proud. I made sure to sing her the normal birthday song I sing every year. Happy day to you! Happy day to you! Happy birthday to you! I'm excited to get to hang out with her & Rodger and the rest of our friends. It should be a good time.

I thought this video was hilarious! I watched it many times and laughed so hard. Poor baby. Again, my love for animals. I think I like any animal video. This just describes how I feel sometimes. You keep spinning your wheels just to run smack into a dead-end. I hope you all have a great rest of the week.

Baby Talk

Yes, two posts in one day. I'm on a roll. I've just had a busy afternoon. I left work early for my yearly doctor appointment. Fun stuff let me tell you. After filling out "new paperwork for this year", waiting for an hour in the waiting room, and 15 minutes in the room in my birthday suit, my doctor finally comes in. As if it isn't embarassing enough to be sitting there dressed in a large paper towel, it was freezing in there. They finally turned the air up for me. Brrr....hello...I have nothing on! I was so excited, well kind of because it hurts, to get my very last Gardasil shot. I was not able to get pregnant while taking the vaccination. Sooooooooo....you know what that means! I started quizzing the doctor about what steps to take next. Remember, I stopped taking my birth control the first of this month. All she really had to say was to start taking Prenatal vitamins and wait a few months for all of the hormones to get out of my system. Yikes! ha ha! After 2 hours, I was out of there. I dropped my wonderful jeans off to get hemmed since I do not have 34" legs, and the lady said she can also fix the hole in my very first wonderful pair of Seven jeans. Then, I headed to Wal-Mart to pick out a few things...including Prenatals! I felt so stupid standing there trying to figure out what brand and whatever. So, I called my two best baby makers ~ Sarah and Kristen! Sarah didn't answer, so I called Kristen to ask her. I think I found the ones she takes. I will be taking them at night, because the doc said they make some people sick to their stomach. I hope they don't keep me up at night. Yippee Skippee!

And to add on to my previous blog today...my loving mommy read my blog and took pictures of my awesome love notes to Mr. Vanilla Ice in the play house. OMG! This is so funny! Don't you like how I painted my hand prints on there? Oh, the puff paint days. I wonder when that is going to come back in style? ha ha!

Ladies - Get ready!

Not that I am going, because I no longer support Sammy T's. BUT - look who is coming to little ol' Huntsville. ha ha! I was so in love with him back in the day when he was popular. I knew every word to Ice Ice Baby and probably several others. I remember writing him a "letter" in puff paint on my play house wall when he went to jail...don't remember what for. That is so funny. If I would have thought about it, I could have taken a picture of it while I was at Mom and Dad's. How embarassing. It's probably good I didn't do that. ha ha! I think I wrote how much I loved him and wished he would get out of jail. I don't really remember though. Oh to have those little kid crushes again. I still have one, but now it is Lil' Wayne. ha!

Don't lie - Who is going?? Its only $20!

Spring Cleaning

We had a pretty good weekend. We spent Friday night at home relaxing, since Kyle fished all day and was wore out. I was tired myself though...work has been busy. I was the only one in my group on Friday for a couple of hours and didn't leave when I was supposed to.

Saturday, I was determined to set an alarm so that I wouldn't oversleep when I knew it was going to be a beautiful day. I got up, cleaned the house like every other Saturday, and went outside. I threw on some shorts and tank top because it was like 75 outside. I tackled that nasty garage. I backed the car out and got everything set outside that I could. I swept all the grass and pieces of burnt paper out of there. Yeah, burnt paper. My chiminea was left in the garage and it got windy, so it blew burnt paper all inside the garage. I organized all of the bottles of cleaning stuff in a cabinet we have out there. I lined everything up around the edge of the walls to make room for stuff. I put boxes up in the attic that I had gotten down for Christmas stuff. It's about time. I used an old plastic garbage can to hold all of Kyle's fishing poles, since now he has like 15 poles!! They are kind of all tangled now, but at least there aren't 5 poles here and there all over the garage.

In the middle of my cleaning, I saw something out of the corner of my eye. It was two holy rollers (I hope that's not a mean term) walking up the driveway. I felt a little awkward standing there in shorts, a too small tank top, gloves on, broom in hand, and 103.5 jamming on my car radio as they walked up and asked me if I knew about Joseph Smith being born in 1820 or whatever they said. Then, they proceeded to pull out the Book of Mormon and read me like 2 pages of it. Nothing against that religion or any other, but it was so awkward for me. I was sweeping my garage and up they walked. After all of that, I weeded my flower beds, clipped the bushes, pulled up the dead stuff, and drowned some ant beds. I felt pretty accomplished. Serenity was out front helping me most of the time...or well, playing was more like it. She liked to roll around on the dead sod and get dirty. We went to a surprise birthday party for a friend of ours that night and came home fairly early.

Today, Kyle went fishing AGAIN. He swears they catch monster fish, but they never want me to go. They swear I would hate it, but they go all the time. Ha ha! Oh well. I got to finish up some homework. Daddy stopped by and posted a blue bird box on my fence out back. I left with him and went to Mom and Dad's. I wanted to be outside in the pretty weather, but I had done all my chores here at home. I told Dad I would help him outside. We got in the boat on the pond and paddled around to scoop out all of the lily pad pods. I guess that is what they are called. They took over the entire pond these last couple of years and have made it extremely hard to fish. We tried to get all of the seed pods out before they produced even more of those annoying things. While trying to catch some smaller fish, mom scooped out this baby snapping turtle. It would be a precious little thing if it wasn't a dang snapper. We grilled out again like almost every other Sunday. H&D came over to eat with us. Now, its time for bed while it seems like 10:30, the time has changed to 11:30. I need to get to sleep. Hope everyone has a great week!

Astronauts

Its not every day you get to be in arm's reach of an astronaut. Well, I was today. Perks for working for NASA I guess. I was so sad that I forgot about them coming until it was too late. I waited through all of their speeches and went down for the autograph. They give out a picture of them all that they sign for you. I got in the long line that wrapped around the auditorium. It stood completely still for about 15 minutes. They were only signing for 30 minutes. We finally started moving. I'll be darned if they didn't cut off the dang line right in front of us because they had to get going. I was a little sad. Luckily, they signed extras to pass out to the rest of us in line. The reason this one was so special to me was because I actually saw them launch back in November. It was a night launch. It was the most beautiful, unreal, amazing thing I have ever witnessed so far. It is unreal that something that big, with that much fuel and fire around it can just take off into space. It literally brought tears to my eyes and took my breath away. I tried to scan the picture, but it wasn't working. I will try to post it later.

Since I wasn't blogging at that time, here are some details from my trip. My co-worker, Terri, and I were invited to go with another lady we worked with. She was invited and could bring 3 other people. We were so excited and drove our happy selves all the way to Cocoa Beach. We stayed on the beach in a condo...and did not once get to get on the beach until we were pulling out to leave. We refused to leave without letting our toes hit the sand. We worked at JSC while we were there for 3 days. It was such an amazing experience to be there while all of that was going on. We got all kinds of tours of the buildings, the VAB, the control room. It was so much fun.

I was amazed with this building for some reason. I think because it was so big. The NASA meatball, as they call it, on this building could fit a baseball field inside of it. That is the scale of how big this building is. It stands for Vehicle Assembly Building. This is where they house the shuttles before they launch...at least I think I am getting my details right.

These are whiteboards that are posted all through this one building...I forget its name...the one that has the control room in it. They have a board for every flight that is cased in glass. It is drawings and writings from the astronauts and their families. They are so sweet. The ones that really were sad were those that did not return. The plaque's were on the wall too that had the mission's patch on it. The astronauts design their own patch. Again, the ones that were sad were those that didn't have a return date plate.

And of course...the Shuttle. The one we went to see was STS-126 and it was at NIGHT! Those are very rare to get to see, and it really is rare for people to go and see the launch on schedule. A lot of times they get scrubbed. I struggled with the decision to go, because Kyle and I had Alabama football tickets that Saturday I was supposed to be returning. There was a hurricane or something far off that could possibly cause a weather delay of the shuttle. I went with my gut, went to see the launch, it went off, the AL tickets were sold out from under us, and Kyle ended up getting to go with one of our friends. All in all, I made the right decision. That night at the football game was FREEZING! I would have been miserable. Plus, this was a chance of a lifetime that I couldn't pass up. It was great.

Here is the video I took from my regular camera. It is not the best quality, and I am not smart enough to figure out how to rotate it. So, you have to turn your head to see it. It is nothing close to the real thing, but this was my view from the causeway. Wish you could see it like I did. Scroll to about 1 min 20 seconds and it will start soon.

Ok, had to go back in time there to share those awesome pictures with you. This has really been a busy week. I feel like I have barely been home or had time to relax. Tonight, I worked pretty late to get some stuff done. I tanned, got gas, and came home. My mom leaked to me that Kyle had gone fishing...which I didn't know. haha He does this because he knows I want to go so bad, but he always seems to go when I can't. I get home, turn on the kitchen light, and something moved out of the corner of my eye. I turned to look and this is what I see in my kitchen sink. Poor things.

I won!

I won the auction on that pair of Lucky jeans. I am so excited. They are used, but she "says" she only wore them twice. The pictures look great still, so hopefully they will be just as nice in person. I hope they fit. I am anxious to know when I will get them. They need to hurry up and send them! I fell for another dark pair of jeans. I really need a light pair though because I only have one that is not as dark. The light pair of Seven jeans that I used to have busted at the butt. ha ha! I am thinking about taking them with me to the altering place when I take these I won to get hemmed. I will ask them if they can fix my rip. Its actually not a rip, I don't think. It is a worn place right between my legs. I am too uncomfortable to wear them though. Hopefully they can fix them. I would be so excited. They were my first pair of really expensive jeans. I've only had them a couple of years before they busted. They were my favorite pair though, so I wore them all the time. I can hardly find them anywhere any more.

Well, here is the pair that I won! I will let you know how they fit whenever they get here. Super excited! And did I mention that I won these for $26!!!!!! Plus $10 shipping, so really $36...but still...OMG! Lucky is usually no cheaper than $60 and up to $100 or more.

Snowy Sunday

I was awaken this morning by a text message from my sister at 6:50 am. It said, "Wake up lissy lou n kyle! It's SNOWIN HARD! :) love ya!" Ha ha I was like no way, I am dreaming. This is Alabama where it never snows. The weather guy forecasting one person may see a couple of flakes Saturday night. Well, this was a little more than a couple of flakes. After living in Colorado though, I know this is no huge snow and the snowing hard to us is nothing to them. But it was a good bit for us because it is not normal. The doggies weren't so sure what to do with it. I'm surprised they didn't pee on the porch to keep from getting their feet cold. They are rotten wusses like that. Yes, my backyard becomes a mini-pond when it rains. I hate it. And I can't have any type of furniture in the backyard because as you see, they terrorize it. Poor chair.

Well, the day has come. Today was the first time I have purposely not taken my birth control. Woo hoo! I have been on birth control for about 10 years now. Wow, that is a long time. I'm hoping that it won't affect me being able to have children, but my doctor says it won't. She said I am young enough that it should be just fine. I didn't renew my prescription for this upcoming month. Yikes! I'm kind of afraid what it will do to me now. My body is so used to taking those every day that I am not sure how it will affect me now. You always hear when you get on them that you gain weight or something. I remember it making my boobies grow! haha So, I hope they don't go away. Maybe when you get off of them you lose weight. That would be awesome. Yeah right. Like that would ever happen. The time is finally approaching that we will possibly be getting pregnant. That is sort ave why I started this blog. I wanted to get it started so that when and if I get pregnant, I can give updates on here. I am currently on Gardasil shots. I take my last one March 9th. You can't get pregnant while you are on those and for possibly a month after that. I've heard that you want to give about 3 months of being off your birth control before trying to get pregnant. I'm not sure if there is any truth to that, but I don't want to have anything go wrong because I rushed into it. I promised Kyle to wait until I get out of school. I graduate May 2009. Unless some other stuff comes up, we will probably plan to get pregnant this year. We will have to see how a few things play out first, but we are ready. We want to be young parents, so we don't want to wait much longer. Yikes, I'm getting nervous already! haha

Speaking of children, you have to see these writings I did when I was younger. I think you can tell the ones I did when I was younger then as I got older. The handwritten one is a note to my mom when I was little. My sister was a typical older sister. The one about the dogs had to be when I was really little because its all like one sentence long. I cannot remember what I had to write it for. The one about a Friend was another assignment probably in 8th grade or something like that. The one about my dream was to be written like the MLK speech. I had to do it in 9th grade. My teacher said mine was good and made me stand up in front of the class and read it. I thought they were pretty funny. If I can ever find all of my poems, I may start another blog to post those on. I don't write any more though, so it would be all old ones. Well, here they are. Enjoy, they are pretty funny.
