Michael “Keegan” was born Sunday, January 25th at 9:08 pm. He was 8lbs 6oz and 21 inches long. Abbi checked into the hospital around 7 am on Sunday. They got her into a room around 8. It was not much longer after that they went ahead and broke her water to start inducing her. She had to get them at some point to pump in more medicine for the epidural because she said she could tell it may have been wearing off some. Mike was pushing her legs back so far that the doc had to get onto him because he could break her leg/hip and she wouldn’t even know it. ha! Every contraction she had during the day, the baby’s heart rate dropped. So, they had her lie on her right side. He originally was face down like he was supposed to be, but she wondered if lying on her side for so long made him fall to the side. If you will notice, his little arm is safety pinned to his shirt. He broke his collar bone in the delivery. He was turned on his side inside of facing down. He was not coming out so they even had to vacuum him out. You can’t tell here, but he has a little red spot on the back of his head from it. He was so cute and precious. I held him for a while until he started dreaming. I was the first friend to visit outside of family. I finally gave him up because more of their friends from work were coming in. Abbi and Mike will go home tomorrow. She looked great as well and was up and moving around.
Welcome to the world Keegan!
