Well, here is what the Bump.com had to say about Week 13. Doesn't it sound lovely?! :) Well, the blissful part does, but not the second part. LOL.
"Your Pregnancy: Week 13
Welcome to the blissful second trimester, widely recognized as pregnancy's most comfortable and enjoyable. (Yes, it's a relative distinction.) Don't panic if you start noticing some lovely vaginal discharge. It's called leucorrhea and is totally normal. Though it might mess up your panties, it's essential in protecting your birth canal from infection. (Sorry I know you all wanted to know that part!)
Baby's now the size of a peach!Your fetus is forming teeth and vocal cords...savor this, their nonfunctional phase. Baby is approaching normal proportions, with his head now only one third the size of his body. And intestines are in the process of moving from the umbilical cord to baby's tummy -- much more convenient."
I can't believe it is already the size of a peach. That's a pretty good size. We should find out what it is in 6 weeks, and I cannot wait!! The whole reason for me saying Week 13 - Duh! is....I know Kristen told me that you are very forgetful when you are pregnant, but I don't remember anyone warning me that you truly become a dumb blond. I am seriously having issues! Kyle says I have really become accident prone since I've been pregnant. Saturday, I was making party rolls for the Alabama game (Roll Tide!). Heather has all of this fancy Williams Sonoma stuff she got when they got married or through wedding gift cards from there. I was excited about her sharp knife, because I knew it would cut the bread in half really easy for me. That is the hardest part of the whole deal is standing the pack of rolls up and cutting them in half. Well, I did fine the first pack and all the way until the end of the last pack of rolls. I was holding the bread still as I finished up cutting through the last of the bread, when out comes the knife onto my thumb. It just barely tapped my thumb halfway down on the inside. I knew immediately that it cut through for sure. It started bleeding, and my hand started to shake. I was starving on top of all of this, so I had to calm down. haha I had to fold up a piece of paper towel to put in with the band aid to make it stop bleeding. It hurt for a few hours. A little neosporin and it looks much better.
Next, the rolls were done cooking and smelling up the kitchen. Yum, I am so hungry! I get the pans out of the oven and set them on the stove. I got out the scary knife again to cut them into little sections. I knew that sharp knife would cut through the tin pan, so I got an oven mitt and tried to scoot the pans off to the counter so I wouldn't stab the top of the flat top stove. Well, in trying to move the pan, I apparently turned the knife downward to do so. I didn't know that until I poked myself in the upper stomach with the knife. It made a red spot but luckily didn't break skin. I really could have hurt myself! That knife is so sharp. Luckily, I just barely poked myself. What is wrong with me?!
Then, last night, Kyle broiled some talapia and scallops in the oven. When they were done, he just pulled the rack out and let everyone get the food with the spatula from there. I noticed Be was sniffing it at one point, so I pushed the rack in and closed the door. A few minutes later they told me to preheat the oven for some cookies. I went right on in there and turned the oven back on. A few minutes later, Heather says, um there is stuff in the oven. I said, Oh its ok because I just shut the door from Be. Then, duh, oh crap, it is not ok because I cut the oven back on. I had to get the food and plastic spatula out of there before it burned.
Friday night, we went to eat Italian. I got manicotti. When the waitress put the plate down, I was ready to dig in but the little bowl thing on my plate was not where I wanted it on my plate. I grabbed it with my middle finger to scoot it towards me and yowzer it was hot! It was like sticking my finger to the iron. I jerked my hand back and said ouch! It was my fault for not paying attention that it is the same looking bowls that they stick in the oven to bake the stuff in. That was my duh, but I was kind of ticked at the waitress. When I said ouch, she said oh yeah that middle plate is hot, but I guess you figured that out. Uh, really. It made me mad after that. She should have warned me. Oh well, I guess. It only hurt for a few hours. lol I can't imagine if this will only get worse! I will kill myself for this is over! So, I went window shopping in Rue21 after work today. I was looking to see if I could find some cute cheap shirts to buy for the big game this weekend...by the way we are going to the Alabama Arkansas game. Yah! Anyway, my belly is starting to poke out a little, so I want to wear something cute but comfortable too. They had some good sales on cute loose shirts. I was only window shopping, UNTIL, I found a cute pair of shoes that was the last pair and they were MY SIZE. It was meant to be! lol They weren't red lined like the rest, so I was sad. They were $24.99. I didn't really want to pay that since I was really only window shopping. I decided to get them anyway since they were the last pair. I take them to the register, and they were $8.00!!! Woo hoo!! Talk about excited. I liked them. What do ya think?
